Paris Texas is blogging

Paris Texas in Copenhagen, clearly one of my favourite european stores, are
now posting updates on their blog. Paris Texas carry high-end fashion brands
like Number (N)ine, Junya Watanabe, Undercover, Ksubi, Martin Margiela,
Mosslight, Tsumori Chisato, Raf by Raf Simons, Rick Owens, James Perse,
Kenzo Minami and a lot more. Keep checking their blog for the latest scoops,
Maria really knows what she is doing and she has impeccable taste.

Chronicles Of Never

Chronicles Of Never is Gareth Moody's brand. After quitting Tsubi, Moody has
created jewellery, accessories and tees, but he is now taking steps towards a
full clothing line. The lookbook for Water Will Burn, photographed by
Marvin Scott Jarrett, is absolutely fantastic. To me it feels like a perfect cross
between Tsubi and the japanese avantgarde look.

Back by popular disregard

Pic by Marius.

Okay...so what's happened lately. To put it in brief:

4,5 months has passed by and I have a new job. *applause* And my lovely
girlfriend and I have bought ourselves an apartment, which we moved into
on New Years Eve. Not too shabby for a few months. Thus, I should have
had a shitload to write about on this blog, but I've been really stretched
for time.

My new job is at Blender Agency, where I work as brand manager for fashion
brands Ksubi, Earnest Sewn and Lyle & Scott Vintage. I'm really pleased with
my job situation nowadays. With my previous employer I had gotten to a
point where I felt way too comfortable in terms of which tasks I had, and
how to go about doing them. So comfortable that it felt boring. There were
very few new impulses, and there was not much left to learn.

My new job has shown me how incredibly much more I need to learn about
the fashion industry, and that is such a good feeling - to be at a certain
point, and see all that is to come.

Dear Santa

So, we found the apartment! And we are very happy with the
decision, both in terms of seeing it as an investment, and
seeing it as a place where we would like to live.

But now we need to fill the place. It's not like the place is
enormous, and we do have some stuff already, but here are
a few pieces that Santa can feel free to drop down our
chimney any time.

Insane Mastermind

I liked this knitted cashmere cardigan from Mastermind Japan
which dropped in at Cliff Edge today. I was even about to order
it even though it was a bit more than what I felt like spending
on a cardigan at this point in time. It is listed at 3150 hong
kong dollars, which is around 400 USD. But wait...Cliffedge is
japanese, they don't list hkd...fuuuuuck me!! The thing costs
3150,- USD. Nevermind, Mastermind, I'll wait for something a
little less over my budget these days.

I'm still on top of things

It's been some time since the last time I posted some new trends
in fashion, so I thought I'd post some jeans to show you that I'm
still worth checking out.

Hoppers

By the way, I got something in the mail the other day. The long
anticipated "Hoppers"-print by David Choe. #4 out of 150.

It took one hell of a long time getting here. At least two months.
But the good news is that I've recently seen this print being sold for
double the amount that I paid for it, so besides buying art that I love,
it seems like I've been making a good investment as well. And, more
importantly, the print looks incredible. The quality of the canvas and
the ink is really good. It'll stand out in my new apartment - if I get one.

Bank robbery

Sorry. I haven't found the time to be on here lately. All my
time, focus and interest has been aimed towards trying to
buy an apartment. Or, more specifically; finding a place that
feels good, and financing the fucker. It might be me setting
to high standards, but it's not all that easy when the 37 kvm
(400 sq feet) apartment we were looking at today cost
2,9 mill nkr (450000 USD). That was a ridiculously nice
apartment, though. But even the quite normal apartments
that size go for at least 250000 USD plus.

I have a lot of figuring out to do, so don't shoot me for being
a lazy fuck on this blog for some time. I'll keep posting now
and then when I find the time.

Bore me

When I was a kid I was bored quite a lot. I do feel I was a
creative child, but nonetheless - there was not that much
going on to occupy my mind.

That is not the case today. I'm suffering of full and complete
information overload, and there is so much to see and do
that I don't even find the time to do 1/10th of what I'd like
to. This all makes time fly by so fucking fast. And I hardly
find the time to enjoy the things I do manage to fit in my
calendar since I'm always on the run - either by feet or by
mind.

I'd like to get back to that point where life was boring at
times, and you learned to appreciate the moment. Where
you did not take things for granted.

Boredom is a form of luxury in modern society.

Considering all of this I'm glad my girlfriend and I went up
to the cabin this weekend. Just doing nothing, really. No
tv, no internet, no shopping, no exhibitions, no work, no
social gatherings - just the two of us quietly waiting the
weekend out.
